PENYAYANG subscribes to the idea of developing the spirit of volunteerism among Malaysians
Objectives
- To inculcate the spirit of volunteerism among as many Malaysians as possible
- To offer opportunities for Malaysians intending to volunteer their services.
- To encourage undergraduates to volunteer through community work

SahabatPENYAYANG
Introduction
Sahabat Penyayang is a Volunteer Corp, open to all Malaysians who are interested and prepared to offer voluntary service through programmes coordinated by PENYAYANG.
Objectives
- To offer interested and committed Malaysians the opportunity to volunteer their services through PENYAYANG’s activities
- To enable PENYAYANG to avail itself of relevant and appropriate human resource to implement its numerous programmes
- To establish a sub-culture of volunteerism among Malaysians
Programmes
PENYAYANG require volunteers for the following programmes;
a) BudiPENYAYANG
b) SahabatPENYAYANG IKN (PSPI)
a) BudiPENYAYANG
In conjunction with the main Festivals in Malaysia, PENYAYANG visits urban poor families to deliver hampers of grocery items and financial support through the following programmes.
- BudiPENYAYANG Ramadhan
Visit needy families to deliver duit raya, meals for breaking of fast and grocery items.
- BudiPENYAYANG Chinese New Year
Delivery of oranges, hampers and ang pow to needy families accompanied by Chinese speaking volunteers who act out as translators.
- BudiPENYAYANG Deepavali
Visit to homes of urban poor families celebrating Deepavali to deliver goodies and money
b) SahabatPENYAYANG IKN (PSPI)
In collaboration with the National Cancer Institute (or Institut Kanser Negara (IKN) PENYAYANG organises the SahabatPENYAYANG IKN Programme. Through this programme volunteers offer their services to assist the patients at IKN, on a daily basis.
The services include:
- Voluntary Service
- Anjung Budi
- Volunteers on Wheels (VOW)
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Treatment
SahabatPENYAYANG IKN (PSPI) : Services
- Voluntary Services
Volunteers greet and welcome patients at the Lobby and accompany them to their respective appointment departments.
- Anjung Budi
A hospitality corner that provides complimentary refreshments, reading materials and board games for patients and those accompanying them while waiting to receive treatment.
- Volunteers on Wheels (VOW)
VOW is the buggy service that provides transportation for patients from Institut Kanser Negara (IKN) to the PET CT SCAN Centre at Putrajaya Hospital and to parking areas around IKN.
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Treatment
Free Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) sessions for patients referred by their doctors.
KELAB PENYAYANG
Introduction
Kelab Penyayang is a community-based club, established at Public and Private Universities in Malaysia. The aim is to inculcate the spirit of volunteerism and an understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) among undergraduates.
Objectives:
Kelab Penyayang at Universities are set up to enable undergraduate to:
- understand how charity homes are managed by adopting and working with a welfare home close to their respective university.
- provide relevant voluntary service to their adopted homes in consultation with the management of the homes.
- plan and implement impactful community projects.
- acquire and develop the spirit of volunteerism.
- support and participate in corporate social responsibility initiatives when they are in the world of work upon graduation.

Piala Sukarelawan Menteri Pendidikan Malaysia
Piala Sukarelawan Menteri Pendidikan Malaysia is a community-based competition which aims to enable members of Kelab Penyayang to plan and implement impactful community projects.
The winning teams are selected based on the most innovative, and practical community projects of high impact.
The Competition is held every two years. Winners receive a grant to run the proposed community projects.
